Asks how it is possible that FIA registers case without probe; who gave agency right to add to the miseries of bloggers and their families?; FIA denies registering
any case against Salman Haider
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday took notice of a report regarding registration of the First Information Report (FIR) against bloggers by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and ordered an inquiry in this regard.
In a statement issued here, he said how it was possible that the FIA registered a case against someone without any inquiry. The bloggers and their families had gone through a difficult situation for several days. “Who gave the authority to FIA to increase their worries?” he asked. -- APP
INP adds: Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday said that no blasphemy case had been registered against social activist and blogger Salman Haider. In a statement, the FIA said an application to file a case against Salman Haider had been received, which would be evaluated and a decision would be taken afterwards. The application has been submitted by a person named Ehtasham. Social activist and blogger Salman Haider went missing from the capital earlier this month and returned home on January 28.
