SUKKUR: Mismanagement and cheating have become the order of the day at the BISP centres in Larkana. Hundreds of women are awaiting dispensation of their funds, but they alleged that they are being asked for bribes before they get their stipends.
A large number of women applicants who were supposed to be benefitted by the Benazir Income Support Programme but were denied their right because of mismanagement and indifference staged a protest in Larkana the other day.
The poor women, holding portraits of Benazir Bhutto, demanded of the government to provide them with ATM cards and other facilities. Some of the protesters said that the administration had failed in facilitating the poor women get their stipends smoothly. They also alleged that the police at the centers were found looting the poor women with the collusion of officials concerned.
