FAISALABAD: The German Shepherd male and female dog show was held at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, on Monday.
The event was organised by the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, UAF, in which UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan was the chief guest. Feiko Von Bad-Boll and Aike Vom Schone Geschof won the contest. Pet lovers hailing from Faisalabad, Sargodha, Lahore and other parts of the province participated in the event with their German Shepherds. The campus remained a centre of attraction for pet lovers as hundreds of people thronged the campus to witness the show. Speaking on the occasion, UAF VC Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the dog show was organised at a time when the whole nation was going through a difficult time due to terrorism. He said that such events could open news ways to educate the masses through effective learning of using the security gadgets and safeguard themselves with the help of good quality dogs. He said that the objective of organising the dog show was to promote healthy activities among the youth. Former Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr (retd) Laeeq Akbar Lodhi said that the event provided an opportunity to pet lovers to enjoy the show.
