FAISALABAD: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) General Manager Amjad Mumtaz Sunday said the people’s troubles relating to gas quota would be addressed on priority basis.
Talking to a delegation of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), North Zone, Amjad said the gas quota issue would be communicated to the authorities concerned and strong efforts would also be carried out to resolve the issue at the earliest.
The delegation, headed by Rana Altaf Ahmed, senior vice chairman PHMA, expressed concern over the gas related problems. He said according to a reliable source Faisalabad is getting only 60-65 per cent of its due share that has complicated problems for value added textile industry in addition to making the life of domestic consumers miserable. Rana demanded due share of quota proportionate to the gas shortage for Faisalabad. He said it is necessary to satisfy the perturbed people and to facilitate the value added textile sector that was earning precious foreign exchange for the country and providing jobs to the thousands of workers. Amjad assured them his utmost cooperation in this regard. Syed Zia Alamdar Hussain, Muhammad Amjad Khawaja, Haji Saleem, Shahid Ahmed Sheikh, Haji Muhammad Shafi and Mian Khalid Pervaiz were also in the delegation.
