The government has been weighing the option to further extend winter vacations by the end of January to avoid a repeat of the Peshawar-like tragedy. The prolonged vacations have already thrown the new academic session into disarray. It will be difficult to arrange examinations on time and teachers and students have a herculean task to complete their syllabus in the remaining academic session.
What the government should do is hasten its plans to execute terrorists to avoid retaliation. This is all the more necessary in order to minimise loss of students’ time.
