Girl saved from becoming Swara victim

MINGORA: The police Saturday arrested four members of a jirga after foiling a bid to give a teenage girl in Swara in Matta tehsil of Swat district, police sources said on Saturday.
They said that a case has been filed against 10 persons for giving a 13-year-old girl in Swara.
They said that the jirga had decided to give a teenage girl Alia and sister of Feroz Khan, resident of Spin Porah area, in Swara to settle an honour-related dispute.
They said that the younger brother of the victim girl informed the police about the incident. Four jirga members, including Bacha Zada, Waseem Zada, a prayer leader Maulvi Abdur Rehman and brother of the girl Feroz Khan were arrested. They added raids were being conducted to apprehend other jirga members, including Gul Rehman, Naqshay, Saeedullah, Khyber Khan and Akbar Khan.
