HARIPUR: A village council secretary was killed and a former tehsil councillor injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their car here on Tuesday. The police quoting eyewitnesses said that Salim Khan Tanoli, the former tehsil councillor, and the village council secretary Naseer Ahmad were going to Haripur city from Khalabat Township when armed motorcyclists opened fire on their car near a private school on the Dheenda Road. The injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital where Naseer Ahmad succumbed to his injuries. Salim Tanoli was stated to be out of danger. He had received three bullets in his hand and leg.
