Demo against gas loadshedding in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: People staged a demonstration against gas loadshedding at Chowk Nain on Thursday.
The demonstrators belonging to different areas were chanting slogans against the gas loadshedding. They said that the loadshedding had made their lives miserable. They said that the loadshedding had forced them to buy cooked food from hotels, which was affecting their domestic budget. They demanded the SNGPL high-ups look into the matter and take steps to end the loadshedding.

Health official held for corruption

GUJRANWALA: The Gujranwala ACE arrested an accountant of the Hafizabad Health EDO for corruption.
In an application, Shahzad Ashraf said that accountant Qamar was demanding Rs 10,000 bribe from him for issuing cleanliness NOC to his school. On Thursday, Inspector Rana Naeem under the supervision of Magistrate Waseem Anjum raided and arrested the accused official while receiving bribe from the complainant. The raiding team also recovered marked currency notes from him.

35 CCTV cameras out-of-order on session court premises

GUJRANWALA: Thirty-five out of 62 CCTV cameras are out-of-order on the session court premises, said security in-charge Inspector Imran Saleem.
He said that there were 38 CCTV cameras in the portion of session and additional session judges. Of them, 28 were out-of-order, he added. He said that of 24 cameras installed in the civil judges section, seven were out-of-order. He said that the 35 CCTV cameras had been out-of-order for the last three months. He said that he had repeatedly informed the officers concerned in this regard but to no avail.
