PESHAWAR: The newly-appointed additional judge of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Justice Muhammad Ayub Khan took oath of his office here on Tuesday.
PHC Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel administered oath to Justice Muhammad Ayub Khan at a ceremony.The number of PHC judges has now risen to 16 against the sanctioned strength of 20.
The President of Pakistan, on the advice of the Prime Minister, had approved the appointment of the one additional judge of PHC for a period of one year.Besides the PHC judges including senior judge Justice Yahya Afridi, the Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) President Muzzamil Khan, KP Bar Council Vice-Chairman Tariq Afridi, law officers from the office of Advocate General and Deputy Attorney General Office, senior lawyers and members of the legal fraternity attended the ceremony.
Before his elevation to the PHC, Justice Muhammad Ayub Khan had served as District Sessions Judge, PHC Registrar and accountability court judge.
