MIRPUR (AJK): As many as 73,551 children under five years of age would be administered anti-polio vaccine during the three-day nation-wide campaign in Mirpur district which began on Monday.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Asghar Chaudhry, while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the immunization campaign against polio, said the campaign was launched across the AJK by the AJK Health Department with the collaboration of the World Health Organization (WHO).
The DHO revealed that no case of polio disease had emerged anywhere in Azad Jammu & Kashmir in the last 10 years. He said that a total of 180 mobile teams of paramedical staff had been constituted, and 38 fixed centres set up in the district.
