Led by Tanvir Khan and Asmat, the protesters were carrying banners and placards. They chanted slogans against the officials of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) for keeping the gas pressure low in Shakardara.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that low gas pressure had not only parlaysed life in the area but also compelled the residents to collect firewood for cooking. The infuriated protesters ransacked the Maila plant and damaged furniture. Officials of the OGDCL were taken hostage on the occasion.
