A young man was found dead with multiple bullet wounds on his body in the city’s Golimar area on Sunday.
Police said the victim, who was yet to be identified, was found dumped in an open drain near the Eidgah Ground in Golimar.
After the body was taken to the Civil Hospital for an autopsy, a medico-legal officer said the man had been killed at least four days ago and the body had been in the drain since the time.
While there were no clues to the victim’s identity, police said that the autopsy placed his age at around 26. Given the fact that the victim had been shot multiple times, police were treating the case as a targeted killing.
Road crashes
The scourge of road accidents continues to claim lives in the metropolis, as two more people succumbed to injuries suffered in traffic mishaps.
Rescue officials said an unidentified man, aged around 65 years, was killed when a speeding vehicle knocked him down on Hub River Road in the Baldia Town. The man, officials stated, suffered extensive physical trauma and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for further legal formalities.
In the day’s other road mishap, Danish, a 23-year-old resident of Lyari’s Chakiwara area, died of severe injuries sustained when a speeding vehicle struck him while he was crossing a road.
The accident took place near Shershah and in this case too, the injuries proved too severe and Danish passed away at the accident site. His body was also taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
Man found dead
A resident of Orangi reportedly took his own life on Sunday. As per rescue officials, 30-year-old Usman was found dead at his home and the case was an apparent suicide. His body was shifted to the Qatar Hospital for an autopsy.
