LAHORE: The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the rulers had not learnt a lesson from the Fall of Dhaka nor had they mended their ways after the break-up of the country.
Addressing the Friday congregation at the Mansoora mosque, he said that even today the smaller provinces of the country had a feeling of deprivation due to inequitable distribution of resources.
He said that if the mandate of the Bengalis had been accepted, the debacle of East Pakistan might not have occurred. Sirajul Haq said the enemy exploited the hatred among the Bengalis and as aresult East Pakistan turned into Bangladesh. He said that the rulers would have to remove the sense of deprivation among the people of the smaller provinces to prevent such tragedies in the future.
Sirajul Haq said that the JIT report on Quetta tragedy had exposed the incompetence of the government and this had further shaken the people’s confidence in the rulers.
