Villagers block road against police

OKARA: Hundreds of villagers blocked GT Road near Akhtarabad in protest against the police for not arresting the dacoits who killed a man on resistance.
The protesters burnt tyres on the road, suspending traffic for some time. They said that Zakir Hussain was shot dead and his wife was injured by dacoits near 2/1AL village a week ago, but the police had failed to arrest the culprits. They demanded immediate arrest of the dacoits. During a meeting, DPO Faisal Rana told the protesters that the culprits had been arrested by the Kasur police and the district police would bring the culprits here after legal formalities. Later, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
