Looting of four shops in Chak Jhumra Traders observe shutdown From Our Correspondent FAISALABAD: Traders observed a complete shutdown against the looting of four shops in Chak Jhumra’s Anarkali Bazar on Wednesday. The protesters said that unidentified people in police uniforms had broken the locks of the shops and decamped with the cash and articles on Tuesday night. They said that robberies had increased manifold in the area due to negligence of the police. They held a protest meeting and raised slogans against the police for not giving proper protection to the business community. They appealed to the RPO and the CPO to intervene and launch an inquiry into the incident. They also demanded that police patrolling should be increased to control anti-social activities.
Novelty Bridge incident 7 accused remanded for three days From Our Correspondent FAISALABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Raja Pervaiz Akhtar on Wednesday remanded seven accused of the Novelty Bridge incident in police custody for three days. Earlier, the police produced Ilyas Toti, Majid, Afzal, Pervaiz Jatt, Imran and Muhammad Afzal in court. The case is being investigated by a joint police team.
