Arms, explosives recovered
KALAYA: The security forces on Saturday recovered explosives and huge cache of arms from a coal mine in lower parts of Orakzai Agency and arrested the suspected militant, official sources said.
They said that acting on a tip-off about the presence of a militant, the officials of the Orakzai Scouts raided a house in Sra Khona area and arrested a suspected militant identified as Rasheed Hassan.
They sources said the security forces recovered 23 hand-grenades, 116 RPGs, 17 MM-14 bombs, two anti-aircraft guns, a rocket launcher as many 12.7-MM and 14.5-MM guns, a 75-RR gun, a 82-MM gun and other ammunition dumped in the coal mine.
The security forces arrested the owner of the coal mine, the sources said, adding, that the weapons could be used in acts of terrorism in Orakzai Agency and Hangu district.
