SUKKUR: A seminar to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day was held here. The director-general of Sukkur NAB, the commissioner of Sukkur, a former judge Ali Aslam Jaffri and others addressed the seminar.
The Director-General of Sukkur NAB, Altaf Hussain Bawany, said that corruption and terrorism were interconnected, and we have to eliminate both through a comprehensive strategy, planning and awareness.
He said that Sukkur NAB collected Rs450 million only from the defaulters of electricity bills. Sukkur Mayor Arsalan Shaikh said that corruption could be eliminated through good governance and a comprehensive mechanism.
The Director-General of the Sindh Judicial Academy, Syed Ali Aslam Jaffri, said that there was a need to eliminate corruption from grassroots level. The Commissioner of Sukkur, Muhammad Abbas Baloch, said that negligence in duty was also a kind of corruption.
