LAHORE
Dense fog was recorded in the provincial capital during early morning hours while Met office predicted scattered rain during the next 48 hours.
Met officials said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country while a fresh western disturbance is likely to enter upper parts of the country tonight and likely to affect till Monday.
They predicted that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country while rain with thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places of Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat divisions, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan while at isolated places of Quetta, Zhob, Rawalpindi divisions. They said dense foggy conditions are likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
They said on coming Sunday rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, DI Khan divisions), Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan while at isolated places in upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions) and Islamabad while light rain-thunderstorm/drizzle is also expected along Makran, Sindh coast.
Friday’s lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Skardu where mercury dropped down to -06°C while in Lahore maximum temperature also came down to 20°C and humidity was 68 percent.
