MARDAN: A proclaimed offender was killed in an exchange of fire with the police in Shahbaz Garhi on Wednesday. A press statement issued by district police officer (DPO) office stated that police was informed that proclaimed offenders Istikhar and Zubair were present in Galyara village. The police party raided the area and ordered the criminals to surrender who opened fire at the raiding party. The police returned the fire and killed Istikhar while Zubair escaped from the scene. Police said that the proclaimed offenders were wanted to Rustam and Shahbaz Garhi police stations in different cases of murder, extortion and other heinous crimes.
