Keeping in view the increasing number of unusual and extreme weather conditions due to environmental damage and pollution, the announcement by the Punjab University’s Vice Chancellor to set up ‘pollution study group’ is welcoming. This is a commendable step as it will help combat environmental challenges faced by the country.
It is hoped that this pollution study group will help the government to formulate a sound and effective environmental policy as nothing is more vital and timely than modern environmentalism.
