Five human smugglers held

GUJRANWALA: The FIA teams on Tuesday arrested five human smugglers in different raids.

The FIA arrested accused Tahir Farooq, Azra, Maratib Ali, Ghazanfar Iqbal and Sajid Hussain, who were involved in sending people abroad through illegal documents. Meanwhile, the FIA arrested Waheedul Hassan who was trying to flee abroad on a fake passport.

DACOITS ON THE RAMPAGE: Dacoits took away cash, gold ornaments, cell phones and other valuables in 14 incidents here on Tuesday. Ansar was deprived of Rs 15,000 and two cell phones at Aroop while bandits looted Rs 35,000 and a cell phone from Qamar at Ahmad Nagar. Robbers snatched Rs 35,000 and a cell phone from Ishaq at Kot Ladha while robbers looted Rs 15,000 and two cell phones from Ansar at Noshera Virkan. Dacoits took away applied for motorcycle and cash from Waqar on Ferozwala Road while Ghulam Rasool was deprived of Rs 25,000 and a cell phone at Gakhar Mandi. Bandits snatched Rs 15,000 and two cell phones from Nadeem at Sadar. Dacoits took away cash, gold ornaments, lap tops and other valuables from the houses of Arslan, Ashiq, Adeel, Tariq and Jehangir while a car of Allah Ditta and applied for motorcycle of Asif were also stolen from different places.

 

Teachers demand upgradation in scales

GUJRANWALA: Dozens of teachers on Tuesday staged a demonstration in support of their demands here.

The protesters led by Arif Khokhar chanted slogans in favour of their demands on the GT Road and demanded the government upgrade their scales and increase their salaries.
