‘Subsidy on fertilisers to provide relief to farmers’

From Our Correspondent

BAHAWALPUR: PML-N MPA Mian Muhammad Shoaib Awaisi has said that the Punjab CM revolutionary measure to extend subsidy on fertilisers to the tune of Rs 39 billion will directly provide financial relief to around 5.2 million families of farmers and peasants in 36 districts of Punjab province.

He made these remarks while talking to a delegation of farmers and notables at his residence here on Tuesday. The MPA said that the Punjab government’s consistent efforts had resulted in reducing the price tag of various fertilisers. MPA Shoaib Awaisi maintained that the reduction of prices in fertilisers would bring economic relief to the tune of Rs 2,200 per acre, which would ultimately reduce per acre expenditures and would extend economic cushion to the peasants across the province.
