Dacoits have a field day

GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in several hits on Monday.
In Aroop police station limits two bandits snatched a new motorcycle, Rs 4,000 and a cellphone from Azhar. Muhammad Aleem and his wife were intercepted by robbers in Gakhar Mandi and were deprived of gold ornaments, Rs 22,000 and two cell phones. In Alipur Chattha gunmen took away Rs 38,000, gold ornaments and three cell phones from Mureed Hussain and his family. Sarwat and his family members were intercepted by robbers in Sabzi Mandi police station limits and were deprived of Rs 16,000, gold ornaments and two cellphones. In Sadar Gujranwala robbers took away Rs 13,000 and a cell phone from Asmat.
Zubair and his family members were robbed of Rs 16,000, gold ornaments and a cellphone in Sadar Wazirabad area. Musa was deprived of Rs 32,000 and two cellphones in Sadar Wazirabad area. In Cantt area bandits took away Rs 11,000 and a cellphone from Basit. In Baghbanpura armed men took away a motorcycle, Rs 7,000 and a cellphone from Dastgir. Two bandits snatched Rs 25,000 from Nasira in Khiali police station limits. In the same area robbers intercepted Shafique and his family and took away Rs 27,000 and two cellphones. Thieves entered the houses of Abdul Haq, Yaqoob and Arif and took away costly things. Thieves took away a new motorcycle of Arshad from Model Town area. Police have registered cases.
THREE HURT IN OIL TANKER FIRE: Three people were injured and four motorcycles were burnt to ashes when an oil tanker caught fire on Maraliwala Road, Gujranwala on Monday.
Reportedly, the driver of an oil tanker parked his vehicle along the road and was eating meal in a hotel. When all of a sudden the oil tanker caught fire, leaving Sarfraz, Hassan and Mehbood injured. Four motorcycles that were parked near tanker also caught fire. The rescue teams extinguished the fire after four hours rescue operation.
MAN DIES IN ACCIDENT: A man died and two received injuries in a collision between two motorcycles in Alipur Chowk. Reportedly, Saifur Rehman of Balewala was riding a motorcycle and near Alipur Chowk he hit another motorcycle and died on the spot while Akram and Shahid got injuries. They were rushed to the DHQ Hospital.
SANITARY WORKER KILLED: A sanitary worker was gunned down in Khiali police limits. Reportedly, Iqbal Masih of Waste Management Company was working in Khiali area when unidentified attackers opened fire at him, leaving him dead on the spot. Khiali police have registered a case.
