‘Decline in Pakistan’s exports result of global recession’
From Our Correspondent
SIALKOT: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive SM Munir has said that the current decline in the exports of Pakistan is a result of recent global recession.
He said this while addressing the local business community at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Saturday. He added that Japan, Turkey, China and many other countries with leading economies too were facing a decline in their exports. He said that the government was taking all necessary measures to ensure steady increase in the national exports. He said that 50 per cent special subsidy would be given by the TDAP to all Sialkot-based exporters on participating international trade exhibitions. He urged upon the local exporters to come forward and try to explore the new international markets for rice, textile and other Pakistani products. He was of the view that the SCCI must hold an international level exhibition of all the different Sialkot made export products to attract the international buyers. SCCI president Majid Raza Bhutta, Khawar Anwar Khawaja and others also spoke.
