SUKKUR: A team of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council visited the Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College and Aseefa Dental College of Larkana for inspection, and the principals of the two colleges submitted their record to the PMDC team. The team, led by Dr Zahoor Ahmed, would verify several things, including record of enrollments and the strength of the faculty of the two institutions. The principals of the two colleges said that they had fulfilled all the formalities for getting their colleges affiliated with the PMDC.  They said that the inspection team of the PMDC also appeared satisfied, and they hoped the team would recommend to the PMDC to affiliate their colleges.

Meanwhile, students of Aseefa Dental College and the GMMC staged a protest demonstration at the arrival of the team and asked them not to ruin the future of 500 students. Dr Asghar Channo met with the protesting students and told them that they had provided all the record the PMDC team had asked for, and that he was optimistic that affiliation would be granted to the two colleges.

A member of the PMDC team, Dr Zahoor Ahmed, said the team would send their report to the PMDC high-ups.  He said the team had obtained all the relevant information. Dr Zahoor Ahmed said that final decision about affiliation of the colleges would be taken by the PMDC management.
