Indian aggression

At a time when efforts are being made to isolate Pakistan on the international level, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) offers a ray of hope to the country. This has caused a wave of disturbance in the Indian government which is now hell bent to tarnish the project. The glaring challenge for Pakistan is one of the routes under the CPEC which begins from China and ends in India. This route goes through the disputed territory, AJK. In addition, the Chinese media referred to AJK as a Pakistani territory. This has ignited the Indian government. Therefore, in an attempt to malign the project, the country has raised its concern over the construction projects in Gilgit-Baltistan. This ongoing development in GB is concerning for the Indian government because under the aegis of the CPEC, the Karakoram Highway will be reconstructed and developed to connect China to Pakistan through the disputed region. Later, when Chinese navy ships came to its Sri Lankan Port, India registered a strong protest against this activity of China in the Indian region.

The economic corridor could purely be beneficial for India if it rationalises its policies towards China and Pakistan. The beneficiaries of the CPEC are not only China and Pakistan but the entire South Asian region can reap benefits out of the projects. Instead of maligning the project, India should seek pure economic benefits out of the CPEC or similar projects in the future.

The CPEC promises to bring economic benefits for the entire South Asian region. Under this project, the countries of the region will not only stand united but will also liberate the region from the economic domination of the West. This is why this project is troubling the neighbouring state, India, since the beginning.

Now, India has left no stone unturned to become a hurdle in its completion. The development in Balochistan has become intolerable for India, which is why, soon after the inauguration of the Gwadar Port, the Modi-led government used dirty tactics to enter the territorial waters of Pakistan in submarines and sent drone-attacks to spread fear. Although the Pakistan Army has given a tough response, such action of the enemy should not be taken lightly. The government is requested to ensure safety measures so that the CPEC projects can run smoothly.
