Deforestation
Deforestation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has increased to a great extent. The people of the province cut wood worth Rs75 billion for meeting their .This contributes significantly towards global warming.0This issue is not only restricted to the KP government but the federal government should take adequate measures to save the diminishing forests. Countrywide emergency on cutting of trees must be enforced so that this trend of diminishing trees can be stopped. But the question arises how will people manage without wood fuel? For this, the government should provide kerosene oil on subsidised rates. The federal government must also provide LPG at subsidized rates to people living in the remote areas of the country. The exploration of natural resources should be carried out in full swing so that deficiency in renewable fuels can be overcome.
Deforestation affects the tourism sector of the country as well. Lack of natural sceneries can repel tourists from visiting the northern areas of the country. Frequent floods and land erosions have adversely impacted on the sector. The plantation of trees in abundance can help prevent flood as well. Parliament must promulgate a law on the unauthorised cutting of trees. If steps are taken, the country could protect its forests.
