Locals robbed of cash, valuables in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in various areas of Gujranwala on Saturday.
In Sadr Kamoke police limits, three bandits intercepted Atif and his wife and snatched Rs 35,000, three cellphones and gold ornaments. Irfan was robbed of Rs 32,000 and a cellphone in Kot Ladha. In city Wazirabad, Asif was deprived of Rs 25,000 and a cellphone.
In Eminabad gunmen snatched Rs 17,000 and a cell phone from Saleem. Nadeem and his wife in Ferozewala were robbed of gold ornaments, Rs 25,000 and two cellphones. In Noshera Virkan, Aun and his wife were deprived of gold ornaments, Rs 33,000 and a cellphone. In Aroop, gunmen snatched Rs 15,000 and a cellphone from Abid. Munawar was deprived of Rs 26,000 and two cellphones in Cantt area. In People’s Colony, bandits snatched Rs 13,000, gold ornaments and a cellphone from Hasanat and his wife. In Model Town area, bandits took away new motorcycle of Obaid. Farzana was deprived of Rs 35,000 in Kotwali police limits. Hashim was deprived of car, Shafique and Muzamil of motorcycles in different areas of Gujranwala.
MAN DIES IN ACCIDENT: A man died in a road accident at Jandiala Baghwala. Reportedly, an unidentified man was crossing the road when a speeding tractor hit him leaving him dead on the spot.
UC reserved seats
225 candidates elected unopposed

GUJRANWALA: Polling on reserved seats of 667 union councils have been completed peacefully and 225 candidates were elected unopposed.
Polling was held on 412 seats and according to unofficial results majority of the winners belong to the PML-N.
The polling process started at 9am and continued till 4pm. Some 5,336 voters cast their votes. The Election Commission will announce the official results on November 30 and oath taking of the winner candidates will be held on December 3.
