Lauds Erdogan’s address to parliament
ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has said that defence of Pakistan is in strong hands and the nation should be satisfied in this regard.
The army chief stated this while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House after a joint session here on Thursday.To a question regarding the violation of the ceasefire by Indian troops at the Line of Control (LoC), the COAS said, “There is no need to worry as the country’s defence is in strong hands and your guards are vigilant at the borders.”
While welcoming Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s address to the joint sitting of parliament, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan had longstanding brotherly ties with Turkey and both the countries always stood with each other in the hour of need.
In an informal chat with media persons, COAS General Raheel Sharif said that the Turkish president’s address would further strengthen the cordial relations between the two countries.He said the government and the people of Turkey always supported Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the joint session from the core of his heart, he added.
