The Gwadar port
By our correspondents
November 16, 2016
Last Sunday marked the arrival of the first cargo shipment containing Chinese goods at the Gwadar Port from China. Despite criticism by opponents, the CPEC and the Gwadar Port are now operational. This marks the beginning of heydays of Pakistan. The CPEC is a $46 billion project that encompasses a series of infrastructure, energy and transport projects which has been initiated by China and Pakistan in 2014 and is a major part of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative.
It is hoped that the CPEC will not only help strengthen Pakistan’s economy but also integrate several regions into an economic zone and offer great opportunities to people living in these regions as well as to investors from across the world.
