Kohat Police Assistance Lines, DRC Complex inaugurated
KOHAT: Inspector General of police Nasir Khan Durrani inaugurated the newly constructed Complex for Police Assistance Lines and Dispute Resolution Council here on Tuesday.
Provincial Minister for Law and former chief justice Peshawar High Court Justice (Retd) Ibne Ali, a former governor Lt-General (Retd) Iftikhar Hussain Shah, Member National Assembly Shehryar Afridi, district nazim Maulana Niaz, members of Dispute Resolution Councils, councillors, local elders and representatives of all political parties attended the ceremony.
Explaining the rationale behind establishment of Police Assistance Lines, the IGP Nasir Durrani said the decision to launch Police Assistance Lines was taken keeping in view the troubles and difficulties faced by ordinary citizen.
The participants were informed that since its inception a total of 557 applications were received in Kohat out of which 413 were amicably resolved, 18 were referred for legal action while 126 are under process.
The IGP added that owing to the unprecedented litigation volume it had become increasingly difficult for formal criminal justice forums to ensure prompt and easy dispensation of justice. District Police Officer Mohammad Sohaib Ashraf said the Police Assistance Lines was aimed at providing services to citizens in a welcoming environment.
Citizens can approach the Police Assistance Lines for Theft/Lost Items Reporting; Tenant Information Reporting; CNIC Verification; Vehicle Verification; Police Character Verification Certificate; Police Security Clearance Certificate; Child Lost & Found and Legal Advice.The official said Police Assistance Lines has been designed to offer one-window and expeditious solution for everyday police-related issues within the shortest possible given time frame.
