LG reserved seats polls

OKARA: The local government (LG) elections on reserved seats of the district council are being held today.

Elections for seven municipal committees (MCs), including Okara, Depalpur, Renala Khurd, Basirpur, Hujra Shah Muqeem, Mandi Ahmadabad and Haveli Lakha would be held on November 17. Election for 140 union councils (UC) of all three tehsils of the district would be held on November 19. The polling would be held in respective halls of the 7 MCs, offices of the UCs and the DC hall at the district complex.

District Returning Officer/District Coordination Officer Sucrat Amman Rana nominated Assistant Director Local Government Ghulam Shabbir as focal person to supervise the elections.
