Rulers worst violators of human rights, says Qadri
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that recent incidents of terrorism in Peshawar and Lasbela are clear proof that Daish is gaining strength in our country and the constant denial of the interior minister about Daish existence are pushing the country towards anarchy. He said the government was oblivious of this fact but continued to deny it.
Addressing the members of the Central Core Committee of the party via video conference here on Monday, he said the rulers were the worst violators of human rights and were turning a blind eye towards this rising threat to country.
The PAT chief said the rulers were the main hurdle in the implementation of the National Action Plan. He said a commission of members of the institutions of the national security and intelligence agencies should be formed to probe these allegations. He said all those who had a soft corner for terrorists and extremists should be held accountable for the massacres that had taken place in different parts of the country.
Dr Tahirul Qadri said that in the last two years only the Zarb-e-Azb had been a potent weapon against terrorists; otherwise, no concrete step had been initiated by the government. He said this slackness was giving birth to extremism and negating all the tall claims of good governance. He said we supported the NAP despite our reservations but the government had committed treason by not implementing it in its totality.
The PAT chief demanded strict and fast implementation of every section of NAP and to control the worsening situation in Balochistan and Sindh an operation on the footings of Zarb-e-Azb should be started by the Rangers in Punjab. He expressed his heartfelt grief on the martyrdom of Pakistani troops on the Line of Control and demanded immediate intervention by the United Nations to stop India from violations of the ceasefire line.
