Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan is committed to providing quality higher education and the commission is taking many initiatives to strengthen the system for the purpose.
Federal HEC Punjab Director General Nazeer Hussain said this while talking to new students and faculty at the ceremony of induction 2016 and Prime Ministers Laptop distribution at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) here on Saturday.
While speaking about the HEC performance over the years, the HEC Punjab DG said enrollment and the number of higher education institutes had increased manifold. He said that according to the requirement of national and an international market, the HEC was also improving curriculum and capacity and increasing provision of facilitation for research.
Nazeer Hussain said Prime Ministers Laptop Scheme was very beneficial for the youth as the technology empowered them. UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid also spoke on the occasion. As many as 461 students were selected for the award of laptops.
