Says he’ll be a dictator for those doing politics of violence; PM doesn’t know who’s Justice Amir Raza; Bilawal is a ‘non-serious kid’ who insults political leaders
calling them ‘chacha’; all districts to have passport offices from Feb next year
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday said Dawn’s story was not a security leak but a fabricated news and he had asked the newspaper’s editor to call Cyril Almeida back from the US.
Talking to the media at the Nadra Headquarters here, the minister said the investigative committee had decided to hear the reporter’s position.
He said the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was a “non-serious kid” who did not even know the ABC of politics and insulted people of his father’s age, calling them “chacha”.
“Bilawal doesn’t know how to speak either in Sindhi or Urdu and makes speeches written in Roman Urdu to amuse his mentors,” he said. The minister said how it was possible that a boy of 27 years was leading a major political party when he could not even express his views efficiently in the language of his followers.
The minister said he knewsome people who poured words into Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s ears to make them public.Commenting on the PPP’s criticism of the government, Nisar said he will soon address a press conference, particularly on the PPP.
Answering a question about shelling at the caravan of the KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on entering Islamabad, the minister said people visiting Islamabad for sit-in and protest demonstration will find the roads in Islamabad open but legal action would be taken against all those visiting Islamabad with the design to lock the capital city down through chaos and violence. Nisar said he will become a dictator for all those who were doing politics of confrontation and violence.
Talking about the Afghan girl, Sharbat Gula, Nisar said the spying allegation against her carried no foundation. “Sharbat Gula was holding a fake Pakistani CNIC but she was not a spy but a helpless woman. The Government of Pakistan is ready to allow her extension to stay in Pakistan.”
The minister said he was also on board while deciding the removal of Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan.“Dr Ibad played a long innings and ultimately it had come to an end,” said the interior minister.
He said the government was thinking about appointing a new governor in Sindh for the past few months. He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had decided to remove Ibad but he was waiting for the time to announce it.
Talking about the public holiday confusion on the Iqbal Day, Nisar said a storm of lies keeps on blowing on the social media.
“There’s an abundance of public holidays in Pakistan; being a nation we need to focus on work,” said Nisar. He said there was no logic in observing the Iqbal Day at home by announcing a public holiday.
“Iqbal Day should be observed by arranging seminars and programs in schools on the ideology of Iqbal instead of declaring it a public holiday,” he said, adding that the FIA had been tasked with tracing elements that posted a fake notification of the Iqbal Day holiday on the social media.
Answering a question, the minister said some black sheep were responsible for defaming Nadra and added that there was no space for corrupt elements in the authority.
The minister said the online compliant facility will facilitate consumers to lodge complaints in an effective way instead of visiting the Nadra offices.
Inaugurating the online complaint system at the Nadra headquarters, the minister announced the establishment of passport offices in all the districts of the country from February next year.
He said 29,000 passports had been cancelled and action taken against 600 Nadra employees on the charge of facilitating people in getting fake CNICs besides other allegations.
Nisar said the government was taking bold steps to eliminate corruption in Nadra.During the question-answer session, the minister said after the steps taken by the government, no one could now come to Pakistan without valid documents.
Commenting on a brewing controversy, the minister said no one was aware that the daughter of Justice Aamir Raza Khan was teaching at the Sharif Medical Complex. He said being a chief minister or prime minister, one does not know the family background and lineage of a teacher related to any sitting higher official.
