Rivals will never succeed, says Nawaz
Loadshedding will be buried in 2018; pledges to provide electricity, gas in every house of country; all cities will get motorways; believes some people want to hamper progress; opens Sangla Hill Interchange at Faisalabad-Pindi Bhatian Motorway
SANGLA HILL: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed that the people hell-bent on impeding the wheel of progress would bite the dust and they would never succeed in their designs.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting here on Friday after inaugurating an interchange on the motorway, he said nothing could stop the government from serving the masses and taking the country to new heights of development.
The PM reminded that his government was carrying ahead the agenda of progress and prosperity of the country. He had made a commitment with the people of the area during his election campaign way back in 2013 before assuming the office to construct an interchange that he fulfilled within three years of making the government.
The charged crowd kept chanting slogans of “Dekho dekho kon aaya, Sher aaya, Sher aaya (Look! who has come? The lion has come, the lion has come).” He said the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government has a record of fulfilling all its pledges sincerely it made with the people. Today an old demand of the people of Sangla Hill has been fulfilled, he added.
The PM also announced natural gas supply project for Sangla Hill and said that the government would provide the money required for the completion of the project. He pledged to provide electricity and gas in every house of the country during his tenure in office. He said the government was following its agenda of development while some elements, who are opposed to progress, are trying to fail it.
“The people of Pakistan will reject the enemies of progress and development,” PM Nawaz said adding that all possible efforts and all-out resources were being provided to eliminate loadshedding in the country and many energy projects were under way. The government is trying its utmost to decrease the tariff of electricity also. Loadshedding has already been slashed to a great extent. He said loadshedding would not end but buried in 2018.
The PM said amid a thunder of applause that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project will prove to be a game-changer in the region, which would alter the fate of Pakistan and bring about extraordinary progress and prosperity in the country. He said the government was paying attention to the problem of Pakistan Railways and now this department has made sufficient progress. The government has brought about improvement in the national flag-carrier, the PIA.
PM Nawaz said that the government has restored peace in Karachi and now the people of the city are living in tranquillity due to counter-terrorism measures. "Pakistan's path to progress won't stop because people are with us and they will not support those who want to derail the country's progress." The prime minister asked the people to hold those accountable "who are hindering the country's progress."
Taking a jibe at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government without uttering its name, the PM recalled that the previous governments even did not spare the Hajj pilgrims and looted their money. "Today, the Hajj pilgrims are happy because they are getting excellent services." The people who brought load shedding to Pakistan and the people who are trying to stop progress, unfortunately the same people. “They don't want load-shedding to end and they do not want electricity prices to come down. Their agenda will not succeed," he added.
He said that the PML-N administration is building Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa also and constructing roads, hospitals and providing other amenities there. He said all cities of the country would get motorways in the years to come.
Without uttering the name of his rival party PTI, PM Nawaz said that they claimed that they would make a new Pakistan, “but it is only we who are building new Pakistan in that province also.
"We are the ones making roads and power projects there... We ended terrorism in Pakistan. We launched the operation in Karachi," he said. "Today's Pakistan is stronger and more developed and the international world is praising the heights of development of Pakistan. Look at the Pakistan of three years ago and compare it to the Pakistan of today. Pakistan is with Nawaz Sharif."
He said the government was making all-out efforts to provide facilitate to farmers and all possible step would be taken for their progress and well-being. While announcing provision of supply of natural gas to Sangla Hill, he assured that a university will also be set up in that town as the university helps in eliminating ignorance and producing educated youth. The PM announced establishment of a 250-bed hospital in Nankana Sahib.
The public meeting was also attended by the people belonging to Hafizabad, Shah Kot and Nankana Sahib. The PM announced building an Expressway from Sangla Hill Interchange to Tibba Shah Behlol. He said that Faisalabad-Sainawala Expressway will be expanded up to Sangla Hill.
PM Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Sangla Hill interchange on Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad Motorway (M-3). Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir and Federal Minister for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar were also present on the occasion. The 3.7 kilometres long interchange has been completed at a cost of Rs299.202 million and has a 440-metre wide service road, two toll plazas and a traffic control room.
