The residents of Lahore have taken a sigh of relief after the blanket of smog faded a little. Although a temporary relief, this change in weather conditions is welcoming. Experts have revealed that the main cause of smog is the smoke emitted from the industrial sites. Therefore, the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) has sealed 38 industrial units which were causing pollution in the city. Due to the high level of pollution smog has seen a spike this year. This also caused accidents which claimed the lives of 16 people.
The government is requested to focus on the methods of reducing air pollution. Effective environment-friendly policies are required to ensure a pollution-free environment for the people of the country.
