PTDC plans to construct motel with modern facilities at Naltar, Gilgit

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation has planned to construct a PTDC Motel equipped with all modern facilities at Naltar, Gilgit. In this connection, the Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman,
has allotted a piece of land measuring 30 kanals at
Naltar near the PAF Skiing slopes which is an ideal location.

Talking to ‘The News’ PTDC Managing Director Ch. Abdul Ghafoor Khan said that Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan during his meeting with him there agreed that in future all official meetings and conferences would be held in PTDC motels. For this purpose the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation would provide special discounted rates, said Ghafoor Khan.

According to him being the start point of CPEC in Pakistan side, Gilgit-Baltistan region is land of opportunity and domestic people would ultimately become beneficiary after the economic corridor with all natural resources to attract the visitors as well.

The managing director said that a specific calendar of tourism event would be chalked out for Gilgit-Baltistan that would include four seasonal events. A special car rally with colourful cars and SUVs carrying friendship flags would be organised from Islamabad to China in near future.

He expressed his appreciation for the interest shown by the Gilgit-Baltistan government during his recent visit there for the promotion in the area. Similarly, the GB government has a vibrant plan to install and operate a chairlift and provide other facilities at Naltar aiming at providing entertainment and amusement facilities to the general public and visiting guests.

The GB area presents safe, secure and peaceful atmosphere to the visiting foreign and local tourists, he stated. In order to facilitate the tourists, Ghafoor Khan said that the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation and GB would join hands mutually and have close cooperation with each other to ensure provision of modern facilities to the visiting tourists.
