CDA Mazdoor Union to launch protest for rights
Islamabad: Not satisfied with policies of the incumbent management, the employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) under the umbrella the CDA Mazdoor Union have decided to start a protest movement to safeguard their rights.
Addressing a big gathering of employees of the CDA, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin who general secretary of the CDA Mazdoor Union said a meeting of union’s general body would be called soon to finalize future plan of action.
Chaudhry Yasin recalled that following creation of the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), the employees of the CDA have been divided into two organisations and they have been running here and there for solution of their problems.
“Not only the funds are not available for burial and widows of the employees but the management is also creating hurdles in legitimate issues of workers,” general secretary of CDA Mazdoor Union said. “On one hand we fight at the legal front and on the other hand we have also waged our democratic struggle,” he said.
He pointed out that employees of CDA also supported the local government elections in Islamabad and used their right of voting but the present situation is totally disappointing for them.
He mentioned that the CDA Mazdoor Union through its struggle in the past had resolved many problems of employees including allotment of plots, recruitment of their children and CDA and up-gradation of pay scales.
“Now we are left with no other option but to chalk out future plan of action to start protest move,” he said.
