ISLAMABAD: Eleven persons, including a woman and a child, were killed and 20 others were injured when a van plunged into a ravine near the Bahran area of Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday. The police said the passenger van was going to Bahran when it plunged into a ravine following failure of brakes, a private news channel reported.
As a result, 11 people died on the spot while 20 others were critically injured. Police and rescue team reached the spot and shifted the injured and bodies to a hospital. The identification of the deceased and injured could not be ascertained immediately.
Police have registered a case and started an investigation. According to another report, eight people lost their lives when a speeding passenger van plunged into a gorge in Zhob. Police said the van was heading to Zhob from Quetta when it skidded off the road and plunged into the ravine due to overspeeding.
As a result, eight people died on the spot while several others were critically injured. Police and rescue team have shifted the injured and deceased to a hospital. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
