COAS asks security agencies to work with Sindh govt for peace in Karachi
KARACHI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday directed the security agencies to work in conjunction with the Sindh government for complete restoration of peace in Karachi.
The army chief visited the corps headquarters here and attended the ongoing Exercise Resilient Response of the Southern Command. He was briefed on the conduct and conclusions of the exercise encompassing both defensive and offensive operations, the ISPR said.
Talking to the participants, the COAS expressed satisfaction over enhanced battle worthiness and operational preparedness of military formations.Later, General Raheel chaired a security conference, which was attended by Corps Commander, Karachi, Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar, Director General Military Intelligence (MI), DG Military Operations and DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar.
Appreciating the accomplishments of security forces and intelligence agencies for the improved law and order situation in the city, the COAS directed them to continue focused operations in conjunction with other LEAs and the provincial government for complete restoration of peace in Karachi.
