Birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal observed

SIALKOT: The 139th birth anniversary of national poet and philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal was observed with traditional enthusiasm and zeal on Wednesday.
In this connection, several ceremonies were held in a number of educational institutions in the district. Similarly, many NGOs and other organisations also organised functions to mark the day. Hundreds of citizens visited the Iqbal Manzil, ancestral home and birthplace of Allama Iqbal, at Kashmiri Mohallah, to pay homage to one of the greatest Muslim philosophers and thinkers of the 20th century. MPA Ch Muhammad Ikram, DCO Dr Muhammad Asif Tufail, District Emergency Officer Syed Kamal Abid, ex-SCCI president Fazal Jilani and others also visited the Iqbal Manzil.
