The thick blanket of smog in Lahore has faded away a little. Last week, the entire city of Lahore was choking on smog. Smog causes health problems such as difficulty in breathing, asthma, reduced resistance to lung infections and colds, and eye irritation. At present, no one can wander on the streets of the city without wearing a mask and glasses. Reportedly, many cities and districts of India are also suffering from dense smog due to which a large number of schools has been closed by the authorities for the safety of innocent children. It was also reported that many accidents occurred on the motorways because of dense smog.
This problem requires an immediate action of the government. However, the government seems to be taking the matter lightly. No instructions have been given by the Ministry of Health for the safety of people. The government should take this issue seriously to save the lives of innocent people.
