LAHORE

Zahid Khan, secretary information of Awami National Party, a PTI's rival in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has said that Imran Khan is, in fact, working on the agenda of strengthening Nawaz Sharif.

Zahid Khan, talking to The News, said that he had never seen a leader who was ‘fed’ information from the stalwarts standing behind him in rallies. “If someone says in his ear that a crowd of one million will turn up on the PTI's call, Khan Sahib immediately believes and announces long march or Dharna without realising its fate,” said Zahid Khan.

He said the KP chief minister, who claims to be the representatives of Pakhtuns, did not utter a single word about KP’s grievances regarding CPEC  during the protest last week.

He also said that the opposition parties had a common thinking that as long as Imran Khan was in politics, Nawaz Sharif would further strengthen just because all of PTI’s misadventures had given political advantages to Nawaz.

PPP Senator Saeed Ghani termed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan the two sides of the same coins. Saeed Ghani, in a statement issued on Tuesday, said that both had same vision and both were taught by the same teacher.

He said Imran Khan had always harmed the opposition and once again he was offering his shoulder to Nawaz government. He said that because of Imran Khan, the PML-N won more seats in Punjab than it deserved.

Senator Ghani said that if the opposition had been remained united on the issue of Panama Papers, it could have given tough time to the government. He said that Imran Khan was supporting the government with solo flight, whereas PPP was of the view that it would never change its stance on Panama Papers and keep asking the government to accept the four points demanded by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Senator Saeed Ghani concluded.

Baloch: JI secretary-general Liaqat Baloch has said the US and India are responsible for subversion and turmoil in Balochistan and Karachi, adding RAW agents are behind conspiracies against Pakistan.

Addressing the party meeting at Mansoora on Tuesday, Liaqat Baloch said the US was trying to build India as regional ‘policeman’ to protect its political, diplomatic and military strategic interests in South Asia and this was the root cause of the problems in the region. He said the prevailing political confrontation must end at the earliest and added accountability of the corrupt was now unavoidable. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should rise above party politics and play the role of a prudent statesman.
