PTI submits resolution against federal, Punjab govts
The opposition lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted on Friday a resolution in the Sindh Assembly secretariat against the “high-handed and violent tactics” used by the federal and Punjab government against the PTI.
The resolution was signed by three PTI MPAs in the Sindh Assembly, Khurrum Sher Zaman, Samar Ali Khan and Dr Seema Zia. It said: “This house resolves to express its condemnation and outrage over the fascist tactics and statements of the Federal and Punjab Government and in particular, the interior minister, in dealing with peaceful protestors and political workers in the past week.”
It added:”This house condemns the blocking of all surface routes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the rest of Pakistan and use of tear gas and rubber bullets on the convoys led by the KPP chief minister. The undemocratic and reckless actions and tactics could have led to the alienation of the people of KPK, caused disharmony among the provinces and undermined democracy in Pakistan”.
Speaking to journalists on the occasion, PTI MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had been silent against instances of corruption owing to which it seemed that the anti-corruption drive was not being carried out with sincerity.
He alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz and the Pakistan Peoples Party had reached an understanding to conduct the anti-corruption drive in a deceitful manner. He said it seemed that the NAB chairman was also appointed as per the understanding between the two political parties and PPP leader and former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain also secured bail in one of the cases lodged against him.
To a question that MQM lawmakers had submitted a resolution in the National Assembly against the KPK chief minister, the PTI lawmaker said it seemed that the MQM was still sided with tyrants of the present times.
