Thursday morning (Nov 3) began with a tragic train accident. Two trains – Zakaria and Fareed Express – collided near Karachi’s Landhi Railway Situation. This has raised a few questions.
Why did the driver of the Zakaria Express ignore the signal? Was it entirely the fault of the driver or was there an error in the system? It is surprising why GPS locators are not being installed in the railway system. The administration of the railways should install these locators. They are inexpensive and can help find the exact location of the trains on tracks. This will avoid fatal accidents.
