63-year-old bride among six booked for fraud

GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) director on Wednesday ordered registration of a fraud case against six people, including a 63-year-old bride.
Muhammad Boota, 66, a resident of Sambrial, in his application to the department stated that his wife had been died some time ago. He told that Nikah registrar Khalid Butt contacted him and asked him to contract marriage with Nazira, 63. He said that according to the programme, Khalid and Nazira along with their companions called him in a house situated at Muridpura and got his sign at Nikah Nama form. The applicant alleged that Khalid and Nazira during Nikah also wrote 57-Kanal land and 20-tola gold ornaments at Nikah Nama and after that Nazira refused to go with him. He alleged that the accused persons had occupied his land and threatening him that they would kill him if he took any step against them. After preliminary enquiry, the allegations leveled against the accused persons were proved and the ACE director ordered registration of a case against Nikah registrar Khalid, bride Nazira, ASI Tariq and three others.
