Two of a family killed on road

FAISALABAD: A man and his mother were killed in a road accident near Chak 36/GB.
Usman Ali of Chak 35/GB, Satiana, and his mother Zubaida Bibi were on way home when a vehicle hit their motorcycle, killing them on the spot. Meanwhile, Ghulam Hussain of Rajoa, Khairat Ali of Lundianwala and Mubashir and Luqman of Gatwala were injured in different road accidents. They were shifted to a hospital.
MURDER ACCUSED GRANTED BAIL: Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Yaqoob granted bail to an accused in a murder case.
On a court order, bailiff Muhammad Akram raided Batala Colony police station and recovered Shoaib Munir from the alleged illegal confinement of the police and produced him before the judge.
Inspector Muhammad Usman told the court that the police arrested Shoaib Munir as he was a nominated accused in a murder case. To it, the lawyer of the accused immediately filed a bail application, which was accepted by the court.
KILLER CONVICTED: Additional Sessions Judge Shaukat Ali Khan awarded life imprisonment and Rs 100,000 fine to an accused in a murder case. According to the prosecution, convict Muhammad Azam of Nishatabad had murdered his wife Mehnaz Akhtar in 2015.
LOW GAS PRESSURE: Domestic consumers have been facing a number of problems due to low gas pressures in the city and adjoining areas.
They said that the women were unable to cook food timely due to the low gas pressure.
Three policemen booked for illegal detention

FAISALABAD: On the order of Additional Sessions Judge Malik Ali Raza, police booked three policemen on the charge of keeping a man in illegal detention.
Those booked are Sahianwala SHO Muhammad Khalid, investigation in-charge Muhammad Abdullah and Constable Zafar Hussain. Earlier, a bailiff had recovered Hafiz Zaheer Ahmad of Chak 133/RB from the illegal confinement of the police.
