Pervaiz Rashid made scapegoat: Aitzaz
ISLAMABAD: PPP Senator Aitzaz Ahsan has claimed that the government made former information minister Pervaiz Rashid scapegoat by holding him responsible for publication of a story in a newspaper about a high level meeting. The PPP senator’s statements came a day after Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar said Pervaiz Rashid did not make any attempt to stop publication of the story. If he had halted the news from being printed he would also have been accused of stopping news getting out, Aitzaz said.
Aitzaz alleged that there was a more powerful minister behind the leak. That person should be exposed, the PPP senator said. Aitzaz said accountability should be done of Panamagate. The PPP senator stated that PPP’s prime minister was sent home for not writing a letter while they also faced Memogate scandal.
