KARACHI: Pakistan’s international kabaddi player Tajammul Bajwa died in a road accident in Gojra on Thursday. He was 27.
During his eight-year international career, he represented Pakistan in several international events.
He was adept in both the Asian style and the circle kabaddi. Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) expressed sorrow over his death. PKF secretary Mohammad Sarwar told ‘The News’ that Bajwa was a fine player. “We have been deprived of a fine player. He was the architect of Pakistan’s silver-medal triumph in Asian Beach Games in Bali in 2008,” Sarwar said. “His loss has left us shell-shocked. May Allah keep his soul in eternal peace,” he said.
Bajwa was part of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) squad in the recent National Kabaddi championship.
